$10 MILLION Nursing and 盟军 Health Professions Center and Technology Fund
As 威尼斯人娱乐城 considers urgent needs for our students and our community, it's clear that we must do more to support our healthcare providers and improve access to care. An increasing elderly population, coupled with an aging healthcare workforce ready to retire, creates an imperative for 威尼斯人娱乐城 to expand healthcare 项目 and open more opportunities for students. Along with expanded 项目, we also need a new, modern building where students can learn state of the art skills.
这 initiative will provide matching dollars to construct a new Nursing & 盟军 Health Professions Center as well as specialized technology in support of 威尼斯人娱乐城's health 项目. Existing and expected State XI-G Bonds and grant funding will provide approximately 50% of the anticipated costs, with the campaign providing the remaining 50%. 新 Center will be designed to increase students being trained in healthcare 项目.
$2.5 MILLION New and Expanded 盟军 Health Programs Fund
There is a growing need for additional allied health professions in our region. 这 fund will enable 威尼斯人娱乐城 to expand our allied health 项目 to provide additional opportunities in the following areas:
Physical Therapy Assistant: professionals who provide support with physical rehabilitation following illness or injury
Occupational Therapy Assistant: professionals who provide support for learning or re-learning job-related and personal care skills following an illness or injury
Respiratory Therapy Assistant: professionals who help Respiratory Therapists treat patients who have heart and lung problems, or other health issues that affect breathing
Surgical Technician: professionals who provide support for clinicians in the operating room
Radiologic/X-ray Technician: professionals who provide diagnostic imaging services such as X-Ray tech, MRI tech, and CT tech
Proposed Campaign Amount
$1.3 MILLION -- SCHOLARSHIPS AND STUDENT SUPPORT
Existing scholarship and financial aid 项目 do not provide all of the support
our students need. 威尼斯人娱乐城 is looking to create additional student support 项目 in
the following areas.
这 scholarship will benefit students who are the first in their family to go to 大学. It will help students who demonstrate financial need in overcoming barriers to achieve their 大学 goals.
Business and industry is fast-paced and rapidly changing. The pandemic has only accelerated this pace of change. 这 scholarship is designed for individuals who are in,or have been in, the workforce and need to learn new skills for their jobs.
这 scholarship will meet the growing need for financial support among nursing and allied health students as these 项目 grow.
(CTE) SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships will provide financial support for students entering into degree or certificate 项目 in career and technical education fields. The demand for skilled employees in this area is growing rapidly.
The cost of student supplies such as uniforms, equipment, and testing fees can often reach or exceed $1,000 per student. 这 cost is above the support level usually provided by scholarships. 这 fund will provide nursing students with the financial support to help meet these costs.
